The resort contains a cluster of smaller lodges along with a main lodge. COMMUNICATION CHALLENGE FACED There was no direct communication between the camp on Queen Charlotte Islands and the head office in Richmond. Also, communication between the airports in Sandspit and Vancouver needed to be established. Onboard connectivity for passengers was essential for their business, as clients expressed an increasing desire for wireless communication to stay connected. INFOSAT'S SOLUTION In 2004, Infosat customized the fishing company's operations by supplying SkyComIP with both high season and off season rates since the company conducted business only in the summer. With SkyComIP, voice, fax and data utilities enabled the camp in Queen Charlotte Islands to coordinate travel arrangements for client pick-ups and supply deliveries with head office and the airports. In 2006, a POS system was installed for onsite debit and credit card transactions. |
