CUSTOMER BACKGROUND

One of the world's largest engineering and construction companies, undertakes various engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects around the world.

Their Challenge
The company was looking to provide reliable data and voice communications during the construction phase of a mining project in Latin America for their client. The challenge was finding a service provider that could supply a secure satellite connection between Venezuela and the head office in Toronto.

The Result
Two fully-meshed SkyComIP satellite systems were provided at the remote mine site and also, at a central office located in Latin America. This central office provided dedicated bandwidth for high speed data and voice services to the mine site as well as to their head office in North America. With this solution in place, onsite personnel at the mine are able to conduct local calls to either the central office in Venezuela or to the Toronto head office by simply choosing the correct line and the dedicated backhaul allows for seamless extension of the corporate wide area network (WAN).
